Drake’s long awaited album finally dropped and most of us went out and copped, BUT how’d yall REALLY feel about it?

I bought it, rolled up and popped it in. I skimmed through it giving each song about 10 seconds, nothing immediately caught my attention so I let the bitch ride out. The album, as a whole is a dope piece of work, although as a hip-hop fan I was a little disappointed. I loooove Drake and have since “So Far Gone” but, thats exactly what it reminds me of. Same style, same beat selection, same melodys, I even felt like he took some of the same metephors and reworded them. To me he didnt paint the picture of how he’s grown as an artist in the past year. We get it, you get drunk every night, smoke the best kush, and fuck models but, how did Drake the artist evolve? He described to us what Aubrey the person has been experienced in the past year. He didnt open my eyes any more than they already were. I felt like he took the shit we tweet all day recorded them over a beat, and titled it “Thank Me Later.” It may seem like Im bashing but, im simply just saying. Although there were no jaw dropping punch lines or rewinded verse’s the album was dope and as a freshman he should be super proud. If not for his piece of work, then for the numbers im sure he’ll do.
My favorite songs are “light up” featuring Jay and “up all night” featuring Nicki. Her verse was everythinggggg on that song. I cant wait for her to drop something worth getting excited for. Although im a huge Jeezy fan, the song was “ehhh.” Jeezy and Drake, a two dope, two TOTALLY different artist’s, I like them better separately.
All in all, im glad i bought the album and dont regret giving Drake my $14.99. Now, lets just wait and see how tuff this nigga’s “follow through” is and hope he can do it again.
